Your donation to KCMetropolis.org
helps celebrate the performing arts in Kansas City

KCMetropolis.org is Kansas City’s online journal of the performing arts. Launched in 2008, it was created to fill a clear and critical need for coverage and promotion of the performing arts throughout Kansas City metro.  Since its inception, KCMetropolis.org has established itself as a trusted source of cultural information for an ever-expanding readership and has become an indispensable partner to Kansas City’s performing arts community.

KCM provides first-rate arts criticism, makes the performing arts accessible to the public, and generates quantifiable ticket sales for arts organizations through coverage and the KC Events calendar. In most American cities, arts news coverage has been cut along with funding, yet KCM has attracted a host of volunteer writers that offer talented and expert voices coming from the musicologists, musicians, artists, actors, professional writers within the community.

With a world-class performing arts venue opening in Kansas City in September 2011, key arts organizations are relying on coverage by KCM to help reach their audiences, so it is imperative that publications like KCMetropolis.org and other nonprofit ONLINE arts service organizations continue to exist to provide a voice for the arts in the community.

In order to continue to offer quality performing arts information through critical dialogue to you, we depend on financial support from the readers we serve. We will never institute a subscription fee for our information like many other online informational journals are now exploring.  It is our mission to keep the performing arts easily accessible for all in the community.
